Type A to Trust

I have always been a Type A person, like the kind of person who buys a new planner because something was written incorrectly or a date changed for something. My planner and my plan had to be perfect! This didn’t leave a lot of room for me to trust in God’s plan. Growing up, I was the epitome of “I can do it myself.”
My first thought when Dalton came to me and said, “What do you think about moving to Honduras?” was “That’s not part of the plan!” I loved our house, the boys’ daycare, and where I was teaching! After many prayers, the shift away from my plan and to God’s plan started. It didn’t take long for God to speak to me and remind me that his plans are more important than my plans. In Proverbs 16:9, it says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” It’s amazing that God knew when Dalton and I met in Honduras 8 years ago that this was always His plan. His ways are certainly higher than ours! This whole journey has reminded me of God’s provision!
